Mage

Mages are magic users who use pre-written spells to utilize magic. They also combine magic use with regular weapons combat. They combine both methods of fighting for optimal combat finesse. They typically have their own magic for at least one magical element. However, exceptions can be made for fighters who are especially adept at employing magic attacks in regular weapons combat. They may utilize gems for other forms of magic that they do not naturally have. Being a mage does not require a degree or apprenticeship.

Spellwriters are magic users who use pre-written spells to utilize magic. They use mainly magical attacks, but can also have some proficiency in certain weapons. They are also capable of updating existing spells, or even writing their own spells in simplistic forms. They must speak at least one fae language at an intermediate level. They typically have their own magic for at least one magical element. However, exceptions can be made for spellwriters that are particularly adept at writing spells. They may utilize gems for other forms of magic that they do not naturally have. Being a spellwriter does not require a degree or apprenticeship.

Sorcerer/Sorcereress

Sorcerers are magic users who do not use pre-written spells to utilize magic. They instead use intuitive magic, magic rune/glyph tattoos, or runed objects. Because of the high power costs associated with intuitive magic, sorcerers almost always have unusually high levels of magic, either through a genetic anomaly, double magic (some combination of genetic magic, druidic magic, and/or blood-switched magic), divine patronage, or possession by a ghost or wraith. They often, though not always, combine magic use with regular weapons combat. They must have their own magic for at least one of the elements. No degree or apprenticeship is required to call oneself a sorcerer.

Healers do not have to have their own magic.

No degree is required to call oneself a healer, however, herbalists must complete a seven-year apprenticeship or graduate from an approved herbalist/herbology program at a university. Herbalists technically do not have to have their own magic, though in most cases have their own nature magic.

Warlock/Witch

Warlocks/witches are magic users who specialize in poisons, potions, and plant breeding and manipulation. They use nature magic to breed and grow specialized plants to make their poisons and potions, or to manipulate plants for function and combat. Warlocks/witches must have their own nature magic, however, certain exceptions can be made for those adept at using natursten to breed and train plants. They differ from other nature magic users, because they use magic to breed their own unique plants, while typical nature magic users purchase these seeds. They differ from herbalists, as they use specially grown plants for fighting and defense, while herbalists focus on healing and wellness. Warlocks/witches almost always use intuitive magic, magic rune/glyph tattoos, or runed objects. They can, but do not typically, employ pre-written spells. No degree is required to call oneself a warlock/witch, however, training under an apprenticeship or coven is essential.

Copywriters typically must be able to speak at least one fae language at a beginner's level, however, no knowledge of the fae languages is technically required. Copywriters usually do not have their own natural magic, but can also be rudimentary practices of their own natural magic. No degree or apprenticeship is required to call oneself a copywriter.
