Measurements

Measurements in this story largely reflect our current and historic measurements. This is because these historical measurements are based on realistic comparisons that people used before the invention of the metric system of measurement. Because of that, it would make sense that people would develop similar systems or names for measurements in this world.

This is a medieval tapestry style image of a gold balance. The balance has some fancy wing like arms holding up the scales. There is a blue background, with decorative brown red lacy framing around the scales. There is gray flourishing under the red lace work around each of the scales. There is a decorative border.

* The author would like to note that this is indeed not the same as the historical stone weight which is 14 lbs. This is not on purpose, this was an accident, but the time she realized her mistake, she was already a good deal into Book 2. At this point, she had already made extensive crop yield calculations using this measurement, and did not feel like redoing all of her calculations, as well going back through the books to rework the stone measurement to reflect the historic reality. So, due to the author's laziness, the stone is this world is the weight of 15 lbs, and not the historic 14 lbs.

** The author would like to note that this is not the method of measuring an actual bushel, and that it is a volume measurement, and not a weight measurement in actuality. However, for the simplicity of the crop yield calculations she made in Book 2, she changed it to a weight measurement of 60 lbs of whatever crop was being measured. Please excuse the author's laziness.
