Calendar

Months:

Their calendar year starts exactly eight days before the beginning of Spring Equinox (Around our version of March 12-14). Weeks last 8 days. Months last 32 days, with an extra day or two tacked onto each third month if needed in order that the following month lines up with exactly eight days before the respective Seasonal Solstice/Equinox. If extra days are tacked on, they are not included in the typical week, so the first day of the month is always Manday.

Name of months in order: 1: Hladith, 2: Sharandith, 3: Trium, 4: Solsman, 5: Straiman, 6: Altruium/Hectum, 7: Randith, 8: Octum, 9: Deidith, 10: Tresdith, 11: Hvitman, 12: Dodecum

Week

The week lasts eight days with the first day of the week being Manday. The names of week days in order are: Manday, Ildday, Vindday, Vandday, Traeday, Jordday, Guldday, Solsday. Typically the office, government, and class weeks goes from Manday to Gulday, with only Solsday off. Other occupations do not necessarily follow the seven day work week.

Hours

Times are kept similar to the Roman system, where the zero hour is dawn, meaning our version of 6 am. Dawn is also called diluculum, as it has been standardized to remain the same throughout the year, and also in underground cities. After diluculum, each successive hour is labeled as such: the first hour, or 1 p.l. (“Post Lucem” or “after dawn”), our version of 7 am; the second hour, or 2 p.l., our version of 8 am; and so forth. Midday would be at 6 pl or our version of 12 pm. Noon would be at 9 pl or our version of 3 pm. Midnight would be at 18 pl or our version of 12 am.

Years

The years are reckoned based on years from the Great Breakthrough, in which the surface world inadvertently dug a tunnel into the underworld, creating a land path to the demons. They use the term AGB which stands for "After the Great Breakthrough."

The solar orbit is 384 days, aligning perfectly with the 32-day, 12 month calendar.
