The Librarians

Our Purpose

The Librarians are an organization dedicated to the preservation and spreading of knowledge to the masses. The Librarians have Libraries in all the major cities and academies in the majority of countries. They are still working their way into certain remaining countries, but they are currently opening a new Library branch every year.

At this time the Librarians do not have a large enough network to extend to the more minor areas. However, local libraries can still connect up to the larger Librarian network. This can be accomplished through the Moonstone Book Bridge Program. Get your library connected today, and gain access to select books from our incredible collection. Doing so will expand your vast array of knowledge and insight into magic, history, technology, culture and so much more.

This is a medieval style image of a neocolonial style Library. The castle has eight towers of varying heights and placements. The Library has arched window lining the two levels. It is light gray stone. In the center is a tower-like cupola. The castle is in an open field with a brown path going towards it, and a brown road in front of it. In the background is the sky and two large hills covered in trees. A light seems to be shining from the heavens spotlighting the Library. There is are several town buildings in the background. There is a decorative border.

The founder of the Librarians was a man named Solomon Anguis. He was a visionary for his time. Even before the Break Through, Anguis discerned the rigid social norms presented by the various societies. These norms stifled people's potential and prevented different species and countries from connecting and building a better society. He founded the Society of the Librarians to help combat and dismantle these preconceived notions and rigid social norms.

During Anguis's lifetime, the Break Through occurred. The Break Through happened despite his warnings against mining too deep into the earth's surface. Because of his predictions, several countries began to give more heed to his vision for the future. Anguis helped the countries to unite and prevent the relentless tides of demons seeking to invade and destroy the surface. He wanted to replicate this success, and so began his life-long mission to unify the surface world into an alliance.

Anguis also used this opportunity to expand the Librarians' influence and presence. He began establishing Library branches in all the major cities. He also pioneered the technology of the Moonstone Book Bridge, which magically created copies of books from one library, and placed those copies in other Libraries. This allowed multiple cities to have access to more books and standardized knowledge across the surface world.

Since the life of Solomon Anguis, the Librarians have remained committed to this vision.

City of the Librarians

The Library, of course, has always been at the forefront of magic. The Librarians have designed and built a city that has employed the most cunning edge magical technology. This city has the best defensive systems as well as universal access for citizens to food, water, magical operating power, waste disposal, and healthcare. Because of the City of Librarians' universal access systems, it has become a model for cities across the surface world.

The City of the Librarians also, even more remarkably, has the ability to teleport to any location. This protects the Librarians from malefactors and allows them to visit various countries to help them establish their own Library branches.

How to Join Our Cause

The Library is eager for anyone wanting to join our cause. We encourage all people to come and utilize our Libraries and spread the word about their efficacy. We also encourage individuals who want to help by donating books or financial aid to our cause. People can also help by encouraging their local leaders to accept Librarian programs and presence, especially where none is found. Please feel free to spread the purpose and values of the Librarians to your local community.

The Librarian organization itself is very limiting when it comes to membership. Those who wish to join can contact a Librarian at the closest Library to ask about joining. Applicants will have to prove their magical abilities and knowledge against a high and demanding standard of excellence. Even if an individual passes these tests, recruiting is very limited, and so acceptance is not guaranteed. Those who do not receive membership should not be discouraged, but realize that even without membership, they can act as a volunteer and donate to further the Librarians' causes.

The Librarians appreciate all those willing to donate time and resources to the cause of the Librarians. Together, we can further knowledge and progression and unite our world into a safer, more stable, and happier society.
