Some might question my decision to put a centaur's body in a horse coat, as traditional depictions of centaurs either only clothe the human body, or leave them entirely naked. While this does show the beauty of the centaur body, and the often wild nature of the centaur population in these literatures/ depictions, I have decided on a different approach. In a cultured society where centaurs are equal persons, all people would be wearing clothing for modesty, fashion, and displays of wealth and class. This would include centaurs. A horse coat or some kind of skirt would therefore be essential, in order to cover both the loins and the buttocks, purely for modesty concerns. The rest of the wear would be for fashion and displays of wealth and class.
The tail coming out of his horse coat is actually a fake tail. The real tail you can see coming out underneath the skirt. Poking your tail out of a horse coat would be very difficult, especially for a centaur dressing himself, which is why the actual tail is not poking out of the back of the coat. The reason why they have fake tails is for fashion purposes. Having a tail stick out just looks better.
