Solomon Anguis
Anguis was born before the Break Through. Anguis was a rich and unscrupulous noble who discovered that the lunar fae had the ability to sense and gather moon energy to form into stones. With this discovery, he realized their marketing potential as a scarce resource and started thinking up a way to corner that marketing potential for himself. This, however, proved difficult, as the lunar fae had telepathic abilities in addition to natural moon magic. Eventually, Anguis was able to capture several lunar faes. He got the idea to acquire telepathic abilities for himself by replacing his body with that of a lunar fae. He forced the fae women he captured to produce children adequate for the bodies of his followers and generals as well.
After becoming a telepath, he decided that he wanted to increase his power and his monopoly on manesten through the total control of the lunar fae race. He then worked to capture more lunar fae, and also forcibly impregnated the lunar fae women that he had caught to produce new bodies for his followers to inhabit. He proceeded with this course for a couple of decades, until he was powerful enough to enslave or kill off the entire lunar fae race.
To maintain order in these captured villages, Solomon put curses on many of the lunar fae to siphon their powers. He also began indoctrinating certain lunar fae within the group to become his loyal followers. Solomon created a cult centered around knowledge, rebirth, and manesten gathering to maintain loyalty and fidelity and indoctrinate upcoming generations.
He also, through the use of experimental lunar magic on both humans and spiders, manufactured the species of drommegulper spider-people. In his experimentation, he also initially created the huleboer spider-people as a means of imprisoning the lunar fae. However, the telepathy of the lunar fae allowed them to usually evade or defend themselves from the huleboer. So in response, he created the drommegulper. Because of the drommegulper spider's ability to quietly lull its victims asleep, it became adept at hunting lunar fae who tried to escape. The focus of the guards then became setting up a strong perimeter to keep the Spider-people out. Many edderkopfolk tried to migrate out, killing off small villages. Larger villages, however, began to cultivate abilities to defend against the Spider-people. This created a barrier to the progress of the Spider-people, as it limited their geographic boundaries. This also limited their population growth, as they began to cannibalize each other for food. Some spider-persons were able to escape into the general population. Most Spider-people do eat both animals and foods high in sugars as a way of maintaining survival but also enjoy indulging on people whenever they can get away with it.
